Social Venture Partner Cincinnati Expands Local Commitments

Social Venture Partners (SVP) Cincinnati named two local nonprofits – Gorman Heritage Farm in Evendale and Imago for the Earth in Price Hill – as its 2009 Social Investment Partners. Each organization will receive a $12,500 grant and other direct support in the form of hundreds of hours of pro bono professional and business expertise and expanded connections from the networks of member partners of SVP. Philanthropic Group Announces Grant Opportunity for Regional Environmental Organizations

CINCINNATI, OH. – November 10, 2008 – Social Venture Partners (SVP) Cincinnati, a local venture philanthropy group, announces its second $25,000 grant opportunity for regional environmental organizations providing educational programs for youth. Social Venture Partners Cincinnati Names Civic Garden Center First Social Investment Partner

Cincinnati, OH - June 11, 2008 - Social Venture Partners Cincinnati today named the Civic Garden Center its first social investment partner awarding the organization $25,000 along with a team of experts to assist them in building and operationalizing a Green Learning Station. To be built on the nearby site of an old gas station, the Station will provide education and inspiration to builders, developers, home owners and officials to incorporate green technology into their residences, businesses and public spaces. Finding way to optimize time, money

Garen Wisner admits to being “a bit selfish” when it comes to his charitable giving. “I’ve always wanted to be an active giver, but finding the right fit was something I’ve always struggled with,” said Wisner, who was a consultant for 25 years at Accenture. “I never felt like I was getting the best return on my time.” Click here to view the full article.
