Vocation/Avocation: Co-founder of an IT start-up company which represents, implements, and supports software from Europe. I “retired” (that didn’t last long!) after 30 years in IT management with major corporations and was a CIO consultant for several years before starting up the new company. I have also taught Calculus and many other mathematics classes over time, and I enjoy reading about mathematics and the physical sciences.
For fun: I like to stay active. I work out frequently, play golf weekly (or more), I play tennis when I have the chance, and I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 21, including taking occasional long trips.
Your favorite spot to relax in Ohio/Kentucky:The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden – I have a season pass, and I enjoy just walking around and seeing the natural sights for stress relief!
Latest inspiration: My two grandsons: one is 3 years old and the other is a year and a half. Whenever I feel that the future won’t have much of an effect on me (I’ll be too old to care!), I look at my grandsons and realize I still need to do all I can because they deserve the best country and world we can make.
Your perspective on SVP Cincinnati: It is genuinely a great organization. We’re still in the beginning phases, but the partners are wonderful people – not just helpful to the community, but also helpful to each other. There is a lot of passion to do good things for the community. I predict there will be more organizations like SVP in the future, as it is clear to me that offering business and operational experience to deserving non-profits is a winning idea– I’m very glad I found SVP.
