Across the network and in Cincinnati, Social Venture Partners share a dual mission. We seek to catalyze significant, long-term positive social change in our communities by:
- Educating individuals to be well informed, effective, and engaged philanthropists;
- Investing time, expertise, and money in innovative nonprofits to strengthen these organizations.
SVP Cincinnati covers a 20-county area Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. SVP Cincinnati is one of the 25 cities affiliated with SVP International, headquartered in Seattle.
Our Partners
We are a network of engaged donors that brings together nonprofits and active, caring individuals to pool resources, learn from each other and strengthen nonprofits for positive community impact. Partners come from diverse backgrounds and represent the broad spectrum of community engagement. What brings us together is a shared desire to work together to create social change.
- April 2010 – SVP Cincinnati choses Transforming the Lives of Children and Youth at Risk as its second focus area for investment.
- June 2009 – SVP Cincinnati names two new investments: Gorman Heritage Farm in Evendale and Imago for the Earth in Price Hill. Each receive $12,500 in addition to the intellectual capital of our partners
- June 2008 – SVP Cincinnati names the Civic Garden Center as its first social investment partner. SVP invests $25,000 and dedicates a team of high level volunteers to help the CGC build their capacity
- January 2008 - SVP Cincinnati chooses the environment for its first focus area
- August 2007 - SVP Cincinnati becomes an official affiliate of Social Venture Partners International
- Spring 2007 - InterAct for Change incubates SVP Cincinnati with 14 founding partners.
